Summary:

This position is an integral member of the Finance Team, serving in a prominent role that assists the Senior Accountant, Director of Strategic Finance Operations, and Finance Operations Manager with finance, accounting and reporting activities. Among other things, the Staff Accountant position ensures the integrity and functioning of Vincentian’s general ledger for all financial reporting and facilitates the involvement of other Finance staff in the month-end financial statement close process.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

4. Assist the Senior Accountant with preparation of monthly financial reporting.

5. Compile ad hoc financial reports as requested by the Senior Accountant, Director of Strategic Finance Operations and Finance Operations Manager.

6. Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.

7. Develop monthly financial supporting analyses and account reconciliations, including appropriate review and resolution of general ledger account discrepancies.

8. Provide assistance to external audit function, including preparation of audit schedules.

9. Assist in the preparation of annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for Vincentian’s skilled nursing facilities

10. Assist with preparation of monthly bank reconciliations.

11. Perform other duties as required, which may include preparation of supporting schedules for annual Form 990s.

12. Be available to provide temporary back up to accounts payable functions if necessary.

Education/Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field required

2. Minimum of three (3) years experience in Accounting, Finance or a related field required.

3. Work experience in a health care or long-term care environment preferred.

Work Environment:

1. Typically work is performed in a controlled climate office environment.

2. Some travel between facilities is required.
